CERTIFIED QUALITY

Organic farming can be simply defined as a compendium of agricultural techniques which usually excludes the use in agriculture and livestock of synthetic chemicals such as fertilizers, pesticides, antibiotics, etc., in order to preserve the environment, maintain or increase soil fertility and provide food with all its natural properties.

REGULATION

ECOLOGICAL AGRICULTURE

Organic farming has been legally regulated in Spain since 1989, when the "Organic Farming" Regulation was adopted, which was applicable until the Regulation (EEC) 2092/91 came into force.

Since 1st January 2009 Organic Production has been regulated under Regulation (EC) 834/2007 regarding organic production, labeling and inspection, and R (EC) 1235/2008 regarding Organic Product Import from third countries.

INSPECTION

ANDALUSIAN REGIONAL GOVERNMENT

Inspection and certification of organic agricultural production in Spain is taken under Autonomous Communities and it is carried out mainly by Public Inspection Authorities, through territorial Councils or Ecological Agriculture Committees.

As a distinguishing feature for the consumer to select the products from organic farming on the market, the labels bear the authority and Inspection Body Codes.

This certificate certifies that the crop or industry where the product has been produced is subject to the corresponding controls and inspections of the Agency established for that purpose in the respective Autonomous Community. It is, in turn, the only official guarantee that the product provides the quality the consumer deserves and complies with the standards established in Regulation (EC) 834/2007 and its implementing provisions.
